Top Team Extravaganza

Top Team Extravaganza   21.11.16

Today we had top Team. Top team is a lot of activities and most of them involve water.

For Top Team we were in groups. In my group I had Me, Tyson, Emily.V, Loreen and Philip. All together there were 7 activities and they were all so thrilling and energetic and I had so much fun. On all of the activities my team worked really well together.

One of the activities were Map Hop you had to put apart of New Zealand on the grass and step onto the pieces until you get to the white flag, Then you have to build the south island and the north island. My team got all of the south island together and part of the north island together. So my team got 5 and a half points.

Overall I think Top Team is super thrilling in the activities  and the way we all had so much fun. I recommend the teachers asking the top team company if they could come to your school and you and the others could have so much fun.

A sticky situation

Firstly, I think you should have this fantas- stick one of a kind thing because it will help you in many situations. It can help you on a hiking trip because it is nice and thick. I can stick into the ground and make a trail of big holes behind you. It can also help you by getting the leftover mashed potatoes out of the saucepan. This will have a nice pointy end so you can get the rest out, so you are not wasting the nice cooking.

The truth about this stick is It can be a great play to for your pets.  For cats it can be a back scratcher. whenever they have an itch they can carry the stick in their mouth and find a nice place to have a scratch. For a dog It can kind of be a bone to them. They can barrie it the dig it up again to play with it.

Lastly, you should get this stick because it will keep you company. It will do this by sticking a smile on your face. You will be so happy to have this stick. It will also keep you company by being your friend that will stick next to you forever until your last days.

For writing this week I posted a pecice of writing and this is my plan for it. I hope you can see the learning and the hard work i have put into this.

New School, New look

Mr Moriarty, it’s time to get out with the old and in with the new. I believe if we get a new school, we should get a new uniform.  Three reasons why we should get a new uniform are It is a new start, A show on who we really are and It can be a winter and summer uniform. Read on to find out some more information.

Firstly, we should have a new uniform because It's a new start for us. It is a new start because we can show it off to others who will come to our school. Another reason why is if we get a new school a new uniform would be the best way to go.

Secondly, we should have a new uniform because it is time to show who south hornby really is. If we do this it will attract other families and it will also show off the new you. This could really help to make our school popular.

Lastly, we should have a new uniform because it could be a winter summer uniform. It could be this if Mr Moriarty got Warmer thicker clothes for winter and Light breezy clothes for summer.

Overall, I think We should get a new uniform because It is a new start, A show on who we really are and It can be a winter and summer uniform. I think if we get a new uniform it would be a great change for this school.

The Meowing Secret

We Have been learning how to write persuasive pieces of writing. We had to convince Miss McLeod to get either a cat or a dog. I chose to persuade Miss McLeod to get a Cat. This is my piece of persuasive writing. I had to use persuasive words and phrases that were convincing. I learned another writing tactic to use when i write. I enjoyed writing this because it is fun!

The Meowing Secret

Did you know that cats are sensible animals? Well if you do then read on and find out why Miss McLeod should get a cat. Now I will tell you three reasons why, they are protective for their territory, they have a good sense of hearing and they are very calming.

I think Miss McLeod should get a cat because they are very protective for their territory. They are protective by running inside when someone is there to warn Miss McLeod so she is aware of the happnings. Another reason why they are protective is they sometimes howl really loud if someone is trashing the place and making Miss McLeod's garden work go to waste.

Another reason why Miss McLeod should get a cat, is they have a good sense of hearing .They have good sense of hearing because they can listen for predators that are on the prowl for some meat. They can also listen for orders. The most common one listening for their food bowl to be picked up and then you can have a laugh while seeing them race into the kitchen.

The final reason Miss McLeod should get a cat  is that they are very calming.They can calm you when you go to bed by purring softly to soothe you. When you stroke a cat it can also make you very calm. They do this because when you stroke them they get calm and then it makes you feel calm and safe.

Overall I think Miss McLeod should get a cat because They are calming, protective and have a good sense of hearing. So contact your closest pet shop and Get your purr-fect pet now before it is gone!!!

My Holiday recount

My Holiday Recount

For the holidays we have two weeks off. On the first week of the holidays I went to Dunedin to see my grandma for the week. We played uno, patience and clock they are all card games. The next day we had to go to town because my granddad an eye appointment. Before we went to the eye appointment we went to the supermarket and got some groceries and we went to the warehouse and got some clothes, toys and jewellery.

Next we went to the new cafe in the warehouse. I got a big club sandwich and a raspberry milkshake. Then finally we dropped granddad off at his eye appointment we went to the craft shop next door. From the craft shop i got a new diary and a sticky note pad. Then on our way back to hornby we saw a tanker that had tried to turn a sharp corner but he missed and drove into a ditch and died sad right?

The second week of the holidays I went to cookie time a bike track I went with my dad and my brother. Then our dad gave us a surprise and we got to got to grans for a few days. At grans i watched…… The Sound Of Music!!! It is a great movie to watch. When i went back to hornby went I saw a police car that had pulled over a really old car!!!

When i got home i was so glad because i was getting a little bit homesick. That was my amazing story of my holidays!!!

Calendar Art Term 3 2016

For the end of term we are doing calendar art. I am in Mrs McGuinniety's group. What we had to do is take a black and white Photo with a buddy my buddy was Ashley. Then we had to paint on the photo some pretty things that match the photo. i painted a rainbow 2 birds and a sun. Trust me it looks really good once you have finished!!!

DAY 7: Spirit in Motion –The Paralympic Games

Activity 1. We have to Imagine that we were asked to compete in a tandem cycling event and you had to choose one person to compete with. Who would it be?

If i had to choose someone it would be Erika because...

1. Shes my best friend
2. I look up to her
3. she would support me non stop

That is why i would choose Erika.

Activity 2. We have to  help raise funds to support our amazing Paralympic athletes? On our blog, list 2 different ways in which you, my family or friends could raise money to support the athletes.

I would make a lemonade stand because…

1. Everybody likes lemonade
2. Its nice to help others

That's why i would choose a lemonade stand.

DAY 6: Entertaining the crowd

Activity 1. We have to rate the uniforms for the olympics comment on witch one you like the best.

I think this uniform is great because of the style but i do not like the jacket so i give this a silver medal

I think this uniform is not a good style because of the shirt it is not a good thing i give this a bronze medal

I think this uniform is really awesome because of the style of fern on the top and the shirts and top got together so i give this a gold  medal

2004 olympics Activity 2. We have to choose the person to make the open ceremony for 2024 please comment.

I think he is a good person to take because he is a good person to look up to because he is the prime minister.  Another good reason is because he acts as a good role model and i look up to him because if he was not alive i don't know what i would do without you.

Bonus. We have to carry on from the paragraph that we started of with comment if you think Donald trump would do that.

Imagine that you are sitting in the crowd at the opening ceremonies for the Rio Olympics this August. The ceremony has just started and all of the Olympic athletes are parading around the stadium in their uniforms when all of a sudden…  an athlete came rushing for me and told me that they saw a person in a black  costume come  and steal the flame. She told me that he was heading for the hospital so i said i would try and find  the flame so i went to the hospital. When i got  to the hospital i went to the caretaker and asked him if he had seen anything and he said that he put a person in a black costume in the caretaker's room. Great i said i will go and find out who they are so i went and had a look and i was not surprised to find Donald trump in the costume with the flame!!! So i called the police and they took him away to jail and i took the flame back to the athlete and she was so pleased.     THE END

Sky tower in auckland: I think this is a good landmark because It makes the city stand out apart from the traffic.
