We Have been learning how to write persuasive pieces of writing. We had to convince Miss McLeod to get either a cat or a dog. I chose to persuade Miss McLeod to get a Cat. This is my piece of persuasive writing. I had to use persuasive words and phrases that were convincing. I learned another writing tactic to use when i write. I enjoyed writing this because it is fun!

The Meowing Secret

Did you know that cats are sensible animals? Well if you do then read on and find out why Miss McLeod should get a cat. Now I will tell you three reasons why, they are protective for their territory, they have a good sense of hearing and they are very calming.

I think Miss McLeod should get a cat because they are very protective for their territory. They are protective by running inside when someone is there to warn Miss McLeod so she is aware of the happnings. Another reason why they are protective is they sometimes howl really loud if someone is trashing the place and making Miss McLeod's garden work go to waste.

Another reason why Miss McLeod should get a cat, is they have a good sense of hearing .They have good sense of hearing because they can listen for predators that are on the prowl for some meat. They can also listen for orders. The most common one listening for their food bowl to be picked up and then you can have a laugh while seeing them race into the kitchen.

The final reason Miss McLeod should get a cat  is that they are very calming.They can calm you when you go to bed by purring softly to soothe you. When you stroke a cat it can also make you very calm. They do this because when you stroke them they get calm and then it makes you feel calm and safe.

Overall I think Miss McLeod should get a cat because They are calming, protective and have a good sense of hearing. So contact your closest pet shop and Get your purr-fect pet now before it is gone!!!

My Holiday Recount

For the holidays we have two weeks off. On the first week of the holidays I went to Dunedin to see my grandma for the week. We played uno, patience and clock they are all card games. The next day we had to go to town because my granddad an eye appointment. Before we went to the eye appointment we went to the supermarket and got some groceries and we went to the warehouse and got some clothes, toys and jewellery.

Next we went to the new cafe in the warehouse. I got a big club sandwich and a raspberry milkshake. Then finally we dropped granddad off at his eye appointment we went to the craft shop next door. From the craft shop i got a new diary and a sticky note pad. Then on our way back to hornby we saw a tanker that had tried to turn a sharp corner but he missed and drove into a ditch and died sad right?

The second week of the holidays I went to cookie time a bike track I went with my dad and my brother. Then our dad gave us a surprise and we got to got to grans for a few days. At grans i watched…… The Sound Of Music!!! It is a great movie to watch. When i went back to hornby went I saw a police car that had pulled over a really old car!!!

When i got home i was so glad because i was getting a little bit homesick. That was my amazing story of my holidays!!!
