Hello again, today for the next part of the Samoan task we had to read a story. There were two story's to choose from but I chose the second one. Here is a Link if you want to read it or you can read the short paragraph I wrote about it down below.😊😁
The story I read was about tattoos in Samoa. It was called How Tatau Came To Samoa . The story focused on twins, conjoined twins. The went for a short holiday away from their home to explore different cultures. When they were there they met a lady who sang a song to them in Samoan but the translation was " Women are to be tattooed, Men are not to be tattooed" They remembered that so that when they went back to their village they could tell it to their people but on their way back they saw a clam with a shiny pearl in the ocean so they went to explore but when they came back up their memory was all fuzzy. So, when they got back to their village they told the wrong song to the people. They said " Men are to be tattooed, Women are not to be tattooed" But in the coming years after that women were introduced to tattoos and that was the end of that.
I am a student at in Uru Mānuka. In 2020 I was a year 9 and in 2021 I will be a year 10. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

ReplyDeleteI was really pleased with the great focus today in class and how much work you were able to get done. I enjoyed reading this post the most as you added in some really nice detail for your story summary. This is the quality of work I want to see every time!
Did you enjoy the Samoan learning tasks?
