Final Blog For 2019

Today is the last day of term 4 which means that it is the last day of the school year. I think this year was a lot better last because I have many more friends and many more people to support me. I also enjoyed all of the awesome opportunities I had like Kids for Kids, National Young Leaders Day, Authors Workshop and the Student council. I really liked this year and I hope next year is even better.

Playing To Win

This week for novel study I finished the book Playing To Win. This is the second to last task that I have to do and here it is:

A conflict is a argument between two or more people. Denny and Alice have their differences, Denny likes rugby and Alice doesn't. Alice's brother was killed drunk driving under the influence of alcohol, after a rugby party. Denny absolutely loves rugby and the thrill of it but he worry's that he has lost Alice because of something he loves. In Alice's opinion she thinks that the same thing will happen to Denny and his other friends because of what happened to her brother.

Summer Learning Journey - Introductions

Hi Emma,

My name is Hayley from HHS. I'm year 8 and I will be participating in the Summer Learning Journey for 2019. I am looking forward to participating in this because I want to keep my learning up for the school holidays. At school I like learning Literacy and Writing because I think they are some of my strong characteristics. I like the SLJ because of the way it helps with your learning. I hope that the SLJ will help keep my learning strong and sturdy for when I become a year 9.
I really enjoy you commenting on my blog and giving be feedback.

Creative Writing - Bridge In The Woods

Yesterday we started a creative writing story. We had to choose from some different photos and the one we chose is the one we had to write about. I chose a bridge that was in the middle of a forest. Enjoy!

This is the story of Emma Smith. She is a twelve year old girl who experienced the most wonderful thing in the world. But first it was anything but wonderful. Her father and mother decided to get a divorce when she was eleven and it didn't help that she was also struggling at school. She had to live with her mum which was fine until she had to move to a completely different place. When Emma got to her new house she asked her mother if she could go and explore the the forest surrounding the house but her mother said " I have to tell you something" Emma felt worried. " Your father has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and was only given a year to live" Emma was shocked. She ran outside crying and being in disbelief. After running for what felt like an eternity she reached a bridge that looked like it went on forever. She was still very upset so she ran across the bridge. Then she saw it, a forest covered with leaves hanging from thousands of tree branches. The leaves made it so dark that there were fireflies everywhere. There were also thousands of flowers coming from bushes and some of the trees. Then she walked down a path made of the greenest grass she had ever seen. When she reached the end of the pathway she found a golden well that was full of crystal clear water that shimmered with the light of the fireflies. She was still crying a little bit and a tear fell in the well. The water rippled as the tear fell. Then all of a sudden a face appeared in the well. it was her father face, she smiled. The face said...

Stay tuned for part 2 :)

Playing To Win

This week for novel study we are doing two more tasks. Here is what I have to do for the second one:

Here is the cover I decided to make. I decided to do this cover because It has the title, A rugby ball and a the rugby posts. I was going to put silhouettes of rugby players in the book but I couldn't find one that was transparent.
