Garage Band Song

Last week for music we had to make a song, in  a group on garage band. I was in a group with Tasharn and Shane. We made a country/ pop song but mostly me and Tasharn did most of the work. The ASMR sound we used was the guitar. We used Guitar, Drums and another instrument, can you guess what it was. If you did leave a comment and we will see if you got it right.

3G4G

On Tuesday we went to the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple in Riccarton. While we were there we did lots of fun activities. The first thing we did after we got of the bus was lining up in two lines. One had Miss Birtchs class and one had Miss Tozers class. When we were lined up we went inside the main gallery part, which had lots of cool art in it. We sat down in the gallery and then we learnt what 3G4G means. 3G means Do good deeds, say good words and think good thoughts. 4G means give confidence, give convenience, give hope and give joy.  After we learnt what they meant we went to another part of the gallery and made Lotus Flowers. Last year I made a pink Lotus Flower but this year I made and orange one. After that we went outside to the courtyard and we had a cup of water and two shortbread biscuits that tasted like playdough. Then we got a water tattoo that said 3G4G and what they mean so we didn’t forget. When we finished that we went to a big room to do some meditating. We had to sit cross legged, with our eyes closed and our backs straight and our hands in our laps. We did that for about 5 minutes then they gave us each a gold and red bell that also had 3G4G on it. Then we had to leave and go back to school so the other group could come.

How to play Ki O Rahi

This term for PE we have been learning KI O Rahi. As you know Ki O Rahi is a historic Maori game. Our whole class had to make a presentation of how to play Ki O Rahi. Enjoy my presentation.

How to play Ki-O-Rahi:

Step 1: The first thing you need to do in a game of Ki-O-Rahi you have to make 2 teams of 7 .

Step 2: Make the playing field for the game. In the playing field you will need:

*Check vocabulary for the meaning of these words
  1. Tupu
  2. 7 Pou
  3. Ki

Step 3: At the start of a game you have to throw the ball in the air and both players have to try and hit it.

Step 4: At half time both teams swap there positions from *Taniwha to *Kioma And *Kioma to *Taniwha.

Helpful tips:
Everytime Kioma hits the *pou that is a point but to gain those points you need to touch down.

When Taniwha has the ball the need to have 4 people in the zone to be able to shot. You are able to have as many turns as you want.

We're On Each Others Team/ PE Hurumanu

For the past few weeks we have been doing PE. We have been playing some small practical games to get ready for Ki O Rahi. Ki O Rahi is historic Maori game that they play to have fun. We played a similar game to Ki O Rahi can't remember what its called but it was fun. Today we actually played
Ki O Rahi and it was more fun than the similar one. So I like the hurumanu! Here is a photo!

ASMR

Today for music we had to watch two ASMR videos. ASMR is either satisfying or disgusting. We watched both types of AMSR and most people liked the satisfying version better than the disgusting one. Here are some questions we had to answer.

Image result for asmr1. Have you heard of ASMR before?
Yes I think on youtube.

2.What did you feel when you listened to the ASMR music?
I felt very tingly like when you have pins and needles.

3. Is this something you would like to try making?
Yes, because it would sound very satisfying.

Spelling

Every day except for Wednesday we do spelling. For spelling we had a little red note book and we write words that we can not spell in and then we learn them by doing fun spelling activity's to remember how to spell the words that we chose. Here is my reflection for spelling.

I think spelling is amazing because we get to learn new words and do fun activity's.

Integrity

Hello, today we had to talk about integrity. We had to talk about what it is and why we use integrity in our everyday lives. Here is what we learnt about integrity. Enjoy!😁

  • Having Integrity means that you have to try your best, tell the truth and to be truthful and honest.
  • You can show Integrity at school by doing the right thing even if the teachers not watching.
  • Three ways I have shown Integrity are...
  1. Joining the student council by being a leader.
  2. Standing up for my own actions.
  3. doing the right thing even if no one is watching.
